Dr Shiva Prasad is a leading consultant interventional cardiologist who specialises in the treatment of heart attacks, primary angioplasty, complex coronary interventions and heart failure. Majority of the coronary procedures are done via radial approach.
Dr Shiva Prasad graduated from prestigious Osmania medical college in 2002. After graduation he decided to move to the United Kingdom for higher specialist medical training. After rotating in various university hospitals in the UK, he achieved MRCP in general medicine from Royal College of Physicians, UK.
After MRCP, Dr Shiva Prasad completed his five years of specialist training in cardiology from Liverpool, UK. He was trained in interventional cardiology from Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, one of the busiest heart attack centres in the Europe. He obtained specialty training certification, CCT in Cardiology from Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board, UK.

He is also trained to be an advanced life support course instructor (Resuscitation Council UK). During his training period in UK, presented in various international Cardiology conferences both in Europe and North America. He was also involved in various publications in leading medical journals.
After working as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at North Wales Cardiac Centre (UK) for a period, decided to return to India in 2017. He worked for two and half years at KIMS hospitals, Kondapur as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist. Dr Shiva Prasad currently working as a chief interventional Cardiologist at PRK cardiac centre, PRK hospitals, Chandanagar.
In addition to interventional cardiology procedures, he has been managing all aspects of general cardiology including chest pain assessment, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias and heart disease in pregnancy.
His special interests being primary prevention and life style changes in coronary artery disease predominantly minimising the heart attack risk in young people,coronary intervention (PTCA), Heart failure and cardiomyopathies.
He is a keen runner, advocates daily physical activity and cherishes spending time with his two young kids despite busy professional activities.
